Ed Speleers – John Ray
Ed is a British actor who first came to international attention in 2006 when he was chosen over thousands of other actors for the title role in 20th Century Fox’s Eragon, with Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich and Robert Carlyle. He has since starred in ITV’s prime time series Echo Beach and in television movies Shirasu Jirô for NHK Japan and Witchville for the SyFy Channel, USA. In 2011, Ed starred in A Lonely Place to Die, a feature thriller with Melissa George and Sean Harris, directed by BAFTA nominated director Julian Gilbey. In 2012, Ed appears in the feature Love Bite and as a footman named Jimmy Kent in the third series of ITV's award-winning Downton Abbey.
Joseph Mawle – Max Serloom
Joseph first came to national recognition through the BBC drama Soundproof, which won a Best Director BAFTA in 2007. His subsequent film, TV and theatre work has been equally striking and includes the critically acclaimed Clapham Junction, The Street, Freefall and The Red Riding Trilogy. In 2008, he played Jesus in The Passion for HBO and Judas at The Almeida Theatre in The Last Days Of Judas Iscariot, for which he was nominated as Best Newcomer in the Evening Standard Theatre Awards.
2010 was a busy year for Joseph. He was in two acclaimed feature films: Heartless, with Timothy Spall and Jim Sturgess; and Made in Dagenham, starring Sally Hawkins. He appeared in a number of television dramas, including Dive and Five Daughters for BBC TV, and played Alvarr in an episode of the BBC's popular Merlin series. He was also part of an all star international cast in Poirot on ITV, tackling Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express. In 2011, Joseph appeared in BBC TV's production of D. H. Lawrence’s Women In Love, with Rosamund Pike; in the feature film The Awakening; and in HBO’s fantasy series Game of Thrones.
In 2012, Joseph has appeared in BBC TV's Birdsong, based on Sebastian Faulks’s acclaimed novel and also appears in feature films The Cold Light of Day, starring Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver; Shell, alongside Chloe Pirrie and Kate Dickie; and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, with Alan Tudyk, Dominic Cooper and Rufus Sewell.
Jane How – Rose McCauley
Jane has worked as an actor for over thirty years. Her career includes starring roles in several West End plays, such as Noel Coward's Easy Virtue, Don't Dress for Dinner, Home and Beauty and The Return of A. J. Raffles for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Her other theatre work includes Oh Kay, Cavalcade and Getting Married at the Chichester Festival Theatre; Hay Fever and High Society at the Sheffield Crucible; and Crime and Punishment at the Manchester Royal Exchange, as well as many other plays all over England and on national and foreign tours.
On television, Jane has been closely associated with two high profile roles: Jan Hammond in Eastenders and Helen Latimer in Don't Wait Up. More recently, she has been seen in a wide range of TV dramas including Love in a Cold Climate, Daniel Deronda, Byron, Midsomer Murders, Poirot, The Cazalets, Love Soup, Judge John Deed, Casualty, Doctors and an episode of Bones. Jane's film work includes roles in A Good Woman, Miss Potter and, most recently, Cosi and Je Suis Daddy.
Latoya Rafaëla – Alida Maine/Eileen Ray
Latoya was born and raised in the Netherlands and started as a dancer when she was only four years old. She began her professional training at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam when she was nine. Over the next seven years she danced with the National Ballet of Holland, in Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Swan Lake and the role of Clara in The Nutcracker. She also played the role of Little Yoyo in the Dutch film Naar de Klote.
Latoya continued her education in jazz and musical theatre at the High School of Arts in Amsterdam, where she graduated in 2005 with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. After her training, Latoya was a cross-over swing in the original cast of the musical The Lion King in the Fortis Circus Theater in Scheveningen, Holland. She covered the lead role of Scaramouch in the rock musical We Will Rock You in the Musical Dome in Cologne, Germany and was in the ensemble of the West End production of the musical Wicked in the Apollo Victoria, London. Deathless is her first English dramatic role. In 2011, Latoya has continued her run in We Will Rock You in Utrecht, Netherlands and has also appeared in the Dutch short film comedy Daya. |
